LBC Meeting CANCELLED Severe Winter Storm Conditions
To the Membership of the Virginia Association of USA Boxing,
It is with deep regret that I am forced to cancel tomorrows meeting as planned. After counsel by Coach Jerry Royster, Meeting Host, Silver Gloves Representative and Coach Cobra Boxing, and Secretary Greg Roberts, Owner In Motion Boxing, it was decided to cancel the meeting due to winter storm conditions. At last report Jerry had 5 inches of snow on his street and Greg was stranded at a restaurant parking lot. Further conversations with the Reggie Barnett, Sr., Tournament Chairman and Owner of 757 Boxing Club, voiced his concerns with the reports he had been receiving from the News. Reggie had talked previously with Robert Jackson, Owner Roughouse Boxing and was in concurrence with the reccomended decision. Please pass the word to any you know that may be planning to attend. The meeting has been suggested to be rescheduled as soon as possible. According to the Calendar the next possible date is Saturday, 01, 2010. Next weekend is Christmas and is ruled out. New Years Eve is Thursday of the following week so that would still allow everyone time allowed to enjoy the New Year celebration. I will contact the rest of the Board of Directors, this weekend and confer on the date proposed. I encourage membership to contact me with their concerns on this date. Please let me know if that date is good for you or an alternate date that is more desirable. Please contact me at vbzmach...@gmail.com or call me with your concerns. This will be challenging at best but together we will get the job done. We will post a date for the next meeting. I would like to take this opportunity to post a few of the great Year in review: Milestones for Virginia: 2 Master's invitationals held by the Master's Chairman Greg Roberts New Events: New Areas to hold events: Williamsburg, Harrisonburg and Oceanview Clubs that hosted events: (14) Events that were held in patnership: Clinics: Congratulations goes out to the Athletes, their Coaches and families In closing I would like to thank everyone once again for their hard Robert Matney God Bless Our Troops! |
This event has been rescheduled from the 14 NOV date due to hurricane like weather that prevented the show from happening on the previous date. |

Enjoy the return of amateur boxing to the Knights of Columbus in Ocean View. Robert Matney, President of the Virginia Association of USA Boxing and owner of Seven Cities Boxing is proud to bring back the days of yesteryear when the hall had many bouts contested. These amateur bouts are the demonstration of the skill and dedication the young athletes of today can show. All weight divisions and classes have the opportunity to have matches made and all matches made will be of the highest caliber. No two bouts will be the same. Special guest appearance will be made by Mack "DA MENACE" Semerzier, No.8 Welterweight in the world by the WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting). This former USA Boxing amatteur boxer and national amateur MMA champion is fresh off a 1st round stoppage of No.3 Wagney Fabiano and is ready to show the Tidewater fans that he is their champion once again in January. Mack currently trains at LYNXX Martial Arts Academy and Seven Cities Boxing Club, both of Virginia Beach. |
