2010 Golden Gloves

Welcome to the home page for the Virginia and North Carolina Golden Gloves.

Since the first Golden Gloves tournament in 1923, the Golden Gloves of America, Inc. and its member franchises have provided an opportunity and environment for young athletes to develop lifetime skills. Hundreds of dedicated administrators, coaches, trainers and counselors have unselfishly spent countless times and effort to assist young people in the development of personal character and athletic skills. The Golden Gloves program has led the way in promoting amateur boxing in the United States and has produced the majority of competitors for America’s boxing teams in the Pan-Am and Olympic Games

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Virginia/North Carolina Golden Gloves to provide an activity and safe environment that promotes and enhances the physical and emotional well-being and social development of young athletes; develops individual athletic skills, work ethic, discipline, sportsmanship, self-respect and pride; and provides entertainment to citizens of the community. We are the southern sub-region of the Washington D.C. Golden Gloves franchise and our geographical boundries are all of the state of Virginia and the eastern section of North Carolina from the northern border to the southern border, from the western limits of Raleigh and east including the All Marine Corps Team of Camp Lejeune. To complete our mission annually we conduct championships that advance to the regional and national levels of competition annually.

Golden Gloves Sponsorship Packages

Be a part of the special GOLDEN GLOVES experience that these young athletes cherish for the rest of their lives.

Seven Cities Boxing Club and Tidewaterboxing.com are proud to announce the 2010 Virginia/North Carolina Golden Gloves competition.  The Golden Gloves for 70 years has been synonymous with the launching of future world champions and being the great American past time. Legends born of the Golden Gloves include, but not limited to, Mohammed Ali, Pernell Whitaker, Oscar De Lahoya, Shane Mosely, Steve "USS" Cunningham and many more.

Last year's event, endorsed by Governor Kaine and Mayor Sessoms, was a grand affair held to a maxed out crowd at the Westin Hotel of Virginia Beach Towne Center. Local politicians, celebrities and prominent professional sport figures were at this event in support of our amateur boxers. This is the premiere event for amateur boxers of Virginia and North Carolina. These athletes train all year round for the Golden Gloves in their pursuit to join the ranks of other champions.

This year we return to the resort area at the Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel where we will put on an Atlantic City casino style show that retains that grassroots feel that we all love and enjoy. This 3 day event will take place Friday 26 March through Sunday the 28th. We are currently seeking corporate and private sponsoring for this prestigious amateur boxing event. Sponsor packages include multi media outlets such as radio, television, local newspapers and various internet social environments. Event opportunities may include ring announcements, event signage, vendor tables/booths, VIP area hospitality, after parties, ticket packages, hotel accommodations and even limousine services. We can do just about anything.

In addition to the normal sponsorship packages we will consider all sponsorships by Gift and Service In-Kind donation.
