The Tidewater Amateur Boxing Series and the Virginia Association of USA Boxing is dedicated to the building of our youth and are supportive of Governor Kaine's "Prevention Comes First" initiatives in the prevention of gang recruitment, violence and drug abuse. These positive youth development initiatives have an approach to prevention that emphasizes our youth as resources and contributors to their community rather than as problems. We believe that by providing the values of discipline, self-worth and sportsmanship that they will become active citizens within their communities and lead productive lives that others in their community will want to follow.
Parent Guide to Personal Safety for Youth
The purpose of the Parent Guide to Personal Safety for Youth is to educate parents on some of the safety threats our children face and assist parents in communicating with their children about personal safety. The topics covered in this guide include: fire safety, internet safety, driving safety, bullying, gangs, inhalant abuse prevention and underage drinking.
